Can magnetism help oxygenate renegade cells?

needles and PEMF

Why is the Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Stimulator [PEMF] useful to help with one’s overall health terrain? Will it help a person dealing with cancer?
In 1931 Dr. Warburg won his first Nobel Prize for proving cancer cells are low in oxygen primarily because they shift to a more primitive form of respiration which utilizes sugar instead of oxygen.

It is the cancer process itself which causes most of the lack of oxygen, not the lack of oxygen which causes the cancer process.

He came to the conclusion that it is primarily pollution which leads to cellular stress and inflammation resulting in cellular dysfunction.
The PEMF stimulator can open the pores of the cell membrane thus helping to promote oxygenation and revitalization. I am not stating that PEMF can cure or prevent cancer.  Simply that it helps create an underlying terrain that can be beneficial toward balancing all inflammations and irregular functionings such as cancer.
PEMF corrects imbalances in the electromagnetic field that surrounds each cell.  Just as we use EEGs and EKGs to measure the electromagnetic fields of the brain and heart, so every cell of the body has fields to measure and affect.
Each cell is a tiny battery.  The trans-membrane potential or TMP is the measurement of the cell’s electrical charge. In order for a cell to allow the passage of nutrients IN and metabolic waste OUT, the cell membrane needs to be fully charged. In cancer cells, the cell voltage drops from a normal of 70 millivolts to less than 40 millivolts. At this low level of cell energy, only five substances can pass in or out of the cell: water, sugar, potassium, cesium, and rubidium. Because of the new aberrant cell behavior, Oxygen IS NO LONGER ABLE to enter. This gives room  for the cancer to flourish since it is anaerobic and cannot flourish WITH oxygen.
So the good news is that anything that can help facilitate reoxygenation of the aberrant cells will be beneficial.  There IS light [and oxygen] at the end of the tunnel…!

Massage with Acupuncture Treatment

Woman with enhanced spinal column, rear view (Digital Composite)

Why do I always include massage with acupuncture treatment? The combination of Acupuncture and Massage can accomplish more together than either separately to breathe life back into muscles. While normal muscles are able to contract and relax without restrictions, over the years they can become gummed up [thixotropy]. Without the ability to contract freely, the muscle becomes weak, tight, and often painful. Overused muscles become chronically shorter, a result of fibrous scar tissue.  This then entraps the nerves running through the muscles, causing numbness and/or tingling sensations.

Chiropractor Adjusting Infant Spine

I apply several types of massage before and after needle or magnet application. While Acupuncture works directly on the laser beam-like meridians, GENTLE MASSAGE can nudge these muscles to let go and breathe again. My technique is to slowly allow the muscle to open up at its own speed without imposing painful pressure. Gradually I move into deeper massage that can access underlying muscle layers.  I believe that ”Hurts Good” is far enough and I always listen to the patient’s feedback.

Stressed muscles can block nutrients and oxygen from getting to where they need to go, and this will cause inflammation that allows toxins to build up in your muscle tissue, a feedback loop that contributes to yet more pain and stress. The combination of Massage and Acupuncture breaks up and releases the built-up toxins. With the toxins released, blood and oxygen can circulate as they should through one’s body.  Feel good endorphins are released, dopamine relaxes the brain, and the muscles then crave activity and exercise–as they did when they were part of a younger body!  Start the ball rolling!

PEMF moves Inflammation

neck light  Electromagnetic Field Stim [PEMF] moves inflammation as its first action.  When I lecture and invite volunteers to try it for 3 minutes, virtually every one feels an immediate difference.  PEMF consists of a painless pulsing action applied to any part of the body. It has most commonly been used in healing soft-tissue wounds and suppressing inflammatory responses at the cellular level to alleviate pain and increase range of motion in muscles and joints.

Energy-BodyIt is FDA approved for the treatment of non-union fractures, failed fusions, and particularly good for depression and PTSD.  PEMF therapy up-regulates the body’s functions and optimizes the body’s ability to heal itself. We ARE electromagnetic beings. If those fields get weak, we feel it!

How Acupuncture for Low Back Pain helps Organs too!

Male Back pointsMost people are unaware of how Acupuncture for low back pain helps internal organs too.  Its well known success for back pain usually goes much deeper than merely achieving pain relief.  The ramifications are much greater.  When I apply a treatment of acupuncture with heat, special massage techniques and Electromagnetic Stimulation [PEMF]—all effective for regenerating muscle and nerve tissue, I often see improvements in the kidneys, bladder, metabolism and intestines as well.  For instance, many people report fewer sleep interruptions for urination during the night.  Some have noticed improvements in prostate function, erectile dysfunction or frigidity, and in intestinal and menstrual issues.

Sciatic-nerve-ppic1When our back aches, it is often the cause AND result of various other underlying problems in the body.  While inflammation can migrate to other joints and limbs, it often gravitates to the lower spine–one of our most vulnerable spots.  And yet this area is a vital command center for our adrenal power activation.  Therefore, whether I use laser, PEMF, infrared heat or acupuncture needles,  I find treating the  arthritic build-up or injury of the vertebrae, nerves, and spinal fluid, will also affect the neighboring organs.

The acupuncture meridian channels have all the qualities of a laser beam. In fact they ARE laser beams. So manipulating acupuncture points can have ramifications in the 3-dimensional body and beyond… Multi-tasking at its best!

Miracles for Dogs with Lasers and Electromagnetic Field Stim (PEMF)

Can Lasers and Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Stim [PEMF] do miracles on dogs? In my experience they have consistently proven to transform animals. I have worked with cats, dogs, and dairy cows with Acupuncture and they responded positively. Now recently I have treated three dogs with PEMF and Laser only, with amazing results.

The most dramatic change occurred in a 9 yr. old, fifty-pound Staffordshire Pitbull named Bleu, who had suddenly developed paralysis in his hind legs due to a lesion on his spine revealed by a veterinary MRI. For almost two months he dragged his bottom behind him until he was bloody. The Veterinarian offered expensive diagnostic tests but had no solution for Bleu’s condition. He advised putting him down. But in five visits with me, Bleu was walking. The first visit he immediately improved his incontinence…; after visit #2 he stood up; fourth visit had him walking albeit wobbly, and fifth visit he was on his way. Now the report is that he is running and back to his old self. The short video shows his progress through the treatments.

Rusty, a large 12 yr. old Rotweiler-Golden Retriever, was diagnosed with a tumor in his intestine. He became lethargic, refused to eat and was plagued with vomiting and diarrhea. With every treatment he continues to keep things down better and regain his appetite and his spirit. Bear, a 12 yr. old Huskie-Chow, was becoming an old dog with severe arthritis and old dog habits–stiff and lethargic. Immediately after each of his three treatments so far he seems to regain more and more of his movement and his spunky, interactive personality.

The electromagnetic field stimulator reestablishes the animals’ own electromagnetic fields exactly as it does for human beings. Just as an MRI uses magnetic resonance to diagnose, so the same magnetic properties can apply to curative treatment. And the laser has the ability to penetrate the skin to reorganize the normal functioning of the organism. The treatments are comfortable and speedy so that animals are willing patients for repeated treatments. And their positive response cannot be due to mind over matter! There is no placebo effect here. Thy are not expecting anything. They simply get better! Please use the comment button and share your feedback and responses with me and my readers.

Veterans PTSD Treatment

Veterans Acupuncture for Veterans with PTSD: How can we make acupuncture and meditation more available to our military Veterans? If they are returning with severe trauma and pain, we need to address this problem before it worsens.

As a pioneer acupuncturist in this country, I have aided many Veterans suffering from PTSD through my multi-pronged Veterans PTSD Project: a therapy program for releasing deep-seated anxiety and depression. It includes:

  • Acupuncture treatment for physical and emotional pain.
  • Deep-state endorphin release achieved through herbs and pharmaceuticals, specialized massage, breathing techniques, verbal programming, and other modalities.
  • The powerful Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field Stimulator that can regenerate cell tissue anywhere in the brain or body, FDA approved for depression.
  • My  Cellular Meditation VETERANS STRESS RELIEF audio CDs. Two STRESS RELIEF recorded segments are available for listening for free on this blog site www.BrainbodyBliss.com.

Acupuncture or massage point combinations can open up blocked neural centers, waking up the right bio-electrical frequencies.  This can help “teach” traumatized cells how to “unlearn” states of fear and demoralization.  It helps remove physical imbalances such as inflammation, toxicity, pain, brain chemistry imbalance, physical injuries and overall systems blockage.  This treatment affects these issues by helping to break up intracellular energy trauma and revitalize subcellular metabolism.  This impacts the mental and emotional systems as well.

Acupuncture and the Stress Release CDs both address the entire body’s natural, feel-good neuro-hormones to regenerate the proper brain-body connections.  This restores a state of wellbeing and good sleep.

I have lectured twice at the Combat Stress Conference, explaining the science behind the CDs and treatment therapies.  Many Veterans groups are requesting help.  Singer/songwriter Graham Nash has generously contributed, but much more is needed to fill this critical need.  Drug therapy alone does not always go deep enough and often wears off or causes side effects.

We are working toward the opening of a clinical program for Veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder located near the West L.A. V.A.  This will help Vets transition to civilian life, helping to eliminate both painful memories and painful conditions.

Cellular Meditation is the full-body form of meditation—made easy. It is about getting endorphins, our own feel-good chemicals into ALL THE CELLS OF THE BODY—by freeing them up, and sensing them from inside.  It is the ‘Feel Good’ form of meditation, easier to do than other meditation practices, while also achieving deeper results.  A version of the double CDs is also available for the general public and the Veterans’ families.

Studies have shown that relaxing meditation techniques increase the feel-good neuro-transmitters that counter mood disorders, such as serotonin, dopamine, and GABA; and beneficial hormones such as DHEA, HGH (human growth hormone), and melatonin for anti-aging and good sleep. Meditation also reduces harmful cortisol produced by stress.

Many Veterans and civilians have benefited from the treatments and these CDs. Our non-profit Earth Harmony Foundation.org receives tax deductible donations from those who want to help our returning soldiers by funding their distribution to many veterans organizations who have requested these CDs.

Acupuncture/Massage: Help for Degenerative Knees

How does one know what to do with a bum knee? What’s going on underneath that hard shell?? Is surgery the only answer? In The Journal of Family Practice, the March 2009 issue features an article entitled, “Arthroscopic surgery for knee osteoarthritis? Just say no.” A 2002 study had shown arthroscopic surgery to be of no benefit for moderate to severe osteo-arthritis, but it was so contrary to current practice that it was ignored. Now a recent two-year study showed the same outcome. Only patients with large meniscal tears might benefit from surgery.

What they do recommend is Acetaminophen, NSAIDS, Glucosamine and Chondroitin, physical therapy, regular exercise, and ACUPUNCTURE. (See the reference article: “Effectiveness of Acupuncture as adjunctive therapy in osteoarthritis of the knee: a randomized, controlled trial, by B.M. Berman, L. Lao, P. Langenberg, et al. Ann Intern Med. 2004; 141: 901-910.)

Inflammation in the knees is one of the most common conditions these days, as all joggers and tennis players can agree. Acupuncture and massage are unique in their ability to break up the excessive adhesions and scarred, fibrous tissue that build up–alone or around an injury. These masses cause a gluing, shortening and thickening effect (called thixotropy) in muscles, tendons and ligaments–which reduces the full range of motion and inhibits healing. Acupuncture and body work help break this up and restore resilience and flexibility to this connective tissue.  This can reverse the build up toward worsening degeneration.
Tendons are made up of hair-like tissue strands that become tangled–so they collect ‘debris’-–fluids, crystalized salts–-stuff that disrupts the tendon’s normal function. Often you can feel the little bumps in the normally smooth tissue. When this is eliminated, then the reconditioned tendons can release the pressure on attached muscles.Sore or injured knees respond well to acupuncture. There are two openings under the patella, known as “the eyes of the knees” where needles can be painlessly inserted. These hair-thin steel wires act as antennae for realigning the electrical charge in the acidified, inflamed tissue. Gentle heat can be conducted down the shaft of the needle deep into the joint. This does more than just feel good and alleviate pain; it heals by stimulating  blood and lymph circulation-–to deliver nutrients and oxygen to the injured or degenerated focal point, and then carry away toxins and old blood cells.
The Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Stimulator [PEMF] can work with or without acupuncture to regenerate tissue, remove inflammatory fluids (often noticeable in minutes), and re-establish the EM field around the knee.
Sometimes ligaments are torn irreparably and surgery is the magic answer. And happy campers are out playing tennis and golf again. For others, the results are less rosey. Even when successful, a new knee only lasts 10 to 15 years, so often we are able to delay surgery until absolutely necessary with these modalities. And surgery always disrupts at least some of the electrical lines that run through there: the meridians of the stomach, pancreas, kidney, bladder, liver and gall bladder which all run down the leg.So luckily, many cases can be fixed naturally and for the long run without invasive surgery.  This enables the crucial knee joints to continue to carry us around so that we can keep the rest of the body happy, in shape, and on the move!

Acupuncture and PEMF for Weight Loss

When our body gets sluggish, gains weight, and loses its ability to transform calories into usable power, Acupuncture can enhance metabolism to burn more fat. It also reduces appetite, detoxifies the digestive system, reduces cravings and addictions, and improves circulation and energy.

Research  supports the use of Acupuncture for weight loss:A 2003 study published in The Journal of Medical Acupuncture found that participants receiving acupuncture lost more than three times more weight than the control group.

In a study conducted by the University of Adelaide in Australia in 1998, 95 percent of the participants receiving electro-stimulation on acupuncture points reported appetite suppression. The results showed that the acupuncture group was more likely to experience a reduced appetite and to lose weight than the control group.

An imbalance in the pancreas and the liver leads to fatigue, slow metabolism, water retention, loose stool, and a feeling of heaviness and the “triggers” that lead to cravings and compulsive eating.

Due to emotional stress.
In Chinese medicine each major organ has it own related emotion. Excessive grief damages the lungs, excessive worry–the liver, obsessive thinking and over eating damages the spleen, and excessive fear damages the kidneys. When a patient has extended depression, anxiety or other emotional stress, this damages the spirits and eventually destroys the balanced relationships of the five major organ system. The emotional obstruction results in overeating from stress and further disables the transformation and transportation of body and food essence into usable energy. Then the person feels sluggish and obesity occurs. Meditation can support the acupuncture treatments.

From a Western perspective, acupuncture and TCM have been shown to have an effect on the function of the nervous, endocrine, and digestive systems, food cravings, and metabolism. All of which can help to energize the body, maximize the absorption of nutrients, regulate elimination, control overeating, suppress the appetite, and reduce anxiety.

Ear Points  are a micro-system of points relating to all major organs and body parts that particularly affect brain chemistry.

Most patients report a marked decline in appetite and cravings with acupuncture alone but herbs, healing foods, and exercises can definitely enhance the efficacy of the treatments. For treatment or more information, contact me at drKathleen@brainbodybliss.com.

Graham Nash’s Gift to Veterans: Gallery Show Opening Night

Last night Graham Nash was superb at his opening at Gallery 169. It was the largest crowd they had ever had–just off the beach at PCH and Channel Road in Santa Monica.  Graham’s photographic assemblages were sometimes beautiful,  sometimes disturbing. They have a strong political content which reflects Graham’s concern about our crazy planet.  And his desire for solutions as reflected in his interest in my Veterans’ Stress Release CDs which will benefit from the proceeds of his art show.

One of the goals of these Cellular Meditation Stress Release CDs  is to melt the interior walls of the automatic brain.  My repetitive brain function is stuck in certain patterns, often based on fears of various intensities.  Many of these fear patterns are lifelong, from childhood.  As I outgrew some, I grew into new ones, so the pattern of living in a fear dynamic was set.  Some fears were attached to my youth; now new ones are connected to getting old! Worries, agendas, concerns, that become so habitual, they become familiar sign posts that represent ME, or my little prison that I have become attached to.

Veterans’ Stress Release CDs cover many of these issues and pull me into a joyful NOW. They get me used to just being present and learning to see joy around me instead of fear.  Even listening to them in the car affects my conscious brain, while listening to them in a dark room, sitting or lying down takes me deeper on an excursion of this whole body full of brains… More anon…

Skin: Our InterFace I

Skin is our interface with the outside. It represents our image to the world: our youthfulness or our worn-out internal condition exposed.  Skin quality reflects our insides and, in reverse, we can stimulate this soft outer surface to affect the inside.  It is a tool that can influence our health if we know how to push its buttons!  (Literally!)

Like many examples in nature, it is the thin outer layer that often plays THE big role in relation to the whole.  For example, on the giant magnet Earth, it is the thin layer of organic life—plants, animals, and Us, who act as the transformers of energies between the sun and the magnet planet.  We are the critical go-between, the living skin accomplishing a human version of photosynthesis.

Or, consider the cell membrane of each of our trillions of cells. That thin sheet is where the action is—where the metabolism and processes occur. And just like our skin, the cell membrane can get gunked up—proteins and sugars causing a carmelization that makes our cells crusty, which then impedes the passage of nutrients in and toxins out.

So with our skin—when toxins build up and cannot release through the intestines and  lungs, they then seek an outlet through the skin, ie.  as acne, rashes, psoriasis, etc.  From an  Acupuncture point of view, we would address skin issues by treating intestine or lung points, since together all three are eliminatory organs.  If the body is not hydrated enough or ingests too many acidic foods, ie sugar and red meat, then the skin becomes dry– as a reflection of overheated digestion in the stomach.

Since the tongue is a diagnostic tool in Chinese Medicine, we would see an extra red tongue, with a deep crack down the center–all signals of excess heat, sometimes resulting in GIRD or acid reflux.  To treat this condition, points along the stomach meridian on the leg would be sedated to cool down possible heartburn.  In Chinese theory, the stomach ‘feeds’ the lungs, so we can pull excess from the stomach to replenish the depleted lungs.  Thus, the lungs would nourish the skin to receive more moisture.  This is an example of how Acupuncture is the ultimate example of WHOLE-ISTIC medicine—where each organ can be rebalance with other organs—evening out the energy distribution throughout the body…!

Veterans and PTSD

PTSD has been known by different labels in past wars. In the Civil War, it was called “Soldier’s Heart.” There is an excellent organization by that name on the East Coast which helps Veteran sufferers.  In World War II, they called it “Shell Shock.”  Finally, today PTSD is considered an actual disease syndrome.  It is pandemic among our returning warriors and we need to address this problem.  Drugs can give temporary relief but they are not the final answer.  A recent New York Times article attests to the downside of such pharmaceutical approaches.  We need to provide other modalities and therapies.

“Stress Release for Veterans” CDs I and II is a self-help adjunct to conventional and complementary approaches.  It provides a whole developmental track for the healing process because the relaxation affirmations do sink into the psyche upon repeated listening.  It is clear common sense and cognitive & behavioral advice to help individuals with PTSD to recognize and release trauma-related thoughts and beliefs.

There are many ways for the conscious mind to access and modify depressed or anxious states.  Sufferers see the relationships between thoughts and feelings and can practice new ways of perceiving their situation.  They learn to recognize any negative self-talk and the triggers that set off bad feelings and memories. Deeper self-observation exposes their “hot buttons.” Most of all, they connect with their entire body’s network of feel-good hormones until a new baseline of wellbeing pervades their mental and emotional outlook.

When coupled with acupuncture, there is a huge shift possible.  Acupuncture enduces the relaxing endorphins, dopamine and seratonin.  In the graphic below, we see the dopamine jumping across and binding to receptors and then returning to the original neuron through the uptake pump. Veterans with PTSD improve considerably.

The PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Stimulator has also been shown to affect mental and emotional imbalances.  The Mayo Clinic was the first U.S. medical facility to study PEMF in 2002, and offered it for treatment after FDA approval was granted in 2008.  Columbia Univ. Dept. of Psychology has done a study on PEMF and depersonalization disorder (DPD).  Cedars Sinai did a depression study at the Thalian Mental Health Center in 1998.  The greatest amount of studies  of  PEMF and depression has been done in Israel.

These are all non-invasive modalities that have been shown to treat many conditions without harmful side effects, alone or in conjunction with other conventional remedies.  Acupuncture, PEMF, and stress release meditation can access the deeper roots of energy imbalance so that the recovery is deeper and longer lasting.  The body’s intelligence is tapped and reinforced.  We can then begin to trust the trillions of cells’ brains and emotional centers to reintegrate the Whole of the Body/Mind…

Graham Nash & Electromagnetic Stim for Vets’ PTSD

Here is the press release for Graham Nash’s Gallery Opening last Saturday.

I so appreciate HIS appreciation of my Veterans Stress Release CDs. I have lectured twice at the Annual Combat Stress Conference and my science-based power point presentation was well received— about the CDs, and about acupuncture and the Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Stimulator (PEMF)— FDA approved for depression and pain/inflammation.
Another speaker’s talk was titled: “Dead in Bed” about the thousand+  20 yr.-old vets coming home and having fatal heart attacks—with the only common link being too many prescribed drugs… and being stamped ‘suicides’ and ‘overdoses. It is a huge scandal, since two of the drugs that the military has spent  1  1/2 billion on have been shown to be ineffective for PTSD and to have negative cardiac effects…
Why don’t we just outgrow War instead…

GRAHAM NASH DEBUTS NEW PHOTO ASSEMBLAGES AT “THIS COULD BE YOU,” A SOLO EXHIBITION OPENING SEPTEMBER 1 AT GALLERY 169 IN SANTA MONICA WITH AN ARTIST’S RECEPTION FROM 5-8PM

PROCEEDS FROM ARTIST’S RECEPTION WILL BENEFIT

VETERANS FOR PEACE   &  VETERANS STRESS RELEASE CDS

Los Angeles, CA, August 20, 2012: Graham Nash has helped shape the world around him through ideas, innovations, and influential works of art for more than four decades.  A legendary singer-songwriter, Nash is also an internationally renowned photographer and digital imaging pioneer whose work is represented—by a classic 1969 portrait of David Crosby—in the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.  Nash’s latest exhibition of photography, “This Could Be You,” opens September 1 at Santa Monica’s Gallery 169 (ww.gallery169.com). There will be an artist’s reception from 5-8PM.

Widely known as an activist in support of causes related to social justice, peace, environmental stewardship, and progressive politics, Nash addresses these issues in the twelve (12) previously un-exhibited, large format photo assemblages comprising “This Could Be You,” also the title of one of the works.  Each hand-embellished mixed-media piece examines and questions contemporary political events and societal mores.

“I believe that knowledge is power, that information and ideas are vital to our very survival, that our many problems should be faced, and can be dealt with,” says Nash.  “As an artist, I need to reflect my concerns regarding certain aspects of society facing me today.  I want to express my personal opinions about what goes on around me.  My intent is not to alienate, but to engage.  No one has to agree with me, but let’s keep an open mind.  After all, this could be you.”

A portion of proceeds from sales from the opening reception of Nash’s work at Gallery 169 will benefit the  Veterans For Peace Los Angeles (www.veteransforpeacela.org) for the Veterans Stress Release CDs created by Dr. Kathleen Rosenblatt.

Currently, Nash is touring the U.S. with Crosby, Stills and Nash.  CSN 2012, a 25-song set presenting the group’s first live performance film in more than 20 years, was released earlier this summer.  Captured in high-definition during the early portion of CSN’s 2012 world tour, the set is available worldwide from CSN Records in Blu-rayDVD/2CD (3 discs), and Digital formats.

Born in Blackpool, England, Nash was appointed OBE by Queen Elizabeth in 2010.  He first rose to fame with British Invasion hit makers The Hollies, and went on to form Crosby, Stills & Nash in 1968.  Nash has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, and is in the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

With his photography, Nash has exhibited worldwide.  His work is collected in the book Eye to Eye: Photographs by Graham Nash; he curated others’ work in Taking Aim: Unforgettable Rock ‘n’ Roll Photographs Selected by Graham Nash.  In 1990, he established Nash Editions, now one of the world’s top photographic printmaking houses—and recognized by the Smithsonian Institution for its role in the invention of digital fine art printing.

Graham Nash’s Gift to Veterans

Famed singer/songwriter Graham Nash is having an exhibit of his photographic collages– of social/political content– at the Gallery 169 in Santa Monica, at 169 Channel Rd at Chatauqua and PCH. The opening is on September 1st and it will run into October. Graham will donate part of the proceeds to support my Veterans Stress Release CD Project for veterans with PTSD.  I will be donating them to veterans through the Veterans for Peace organization.   Graham has already written an endorsement for my CDs:  “I am against war, but I support efforts like these CDs that support the men and women who are fighting for us.”

Graham is a mensch.

The CDs include practical advice, guided imagery & focused breath sensation to help normalize biochemical imbalances, reprogram negative patterns, release endorphins, achieve emotional readjustment— with innovative self-help exercises to improve focus and wellbeing.  Initially designed for everybody and titled Cellular Meditation, also available, I added material about the military experience to create a separate version for veterans. Two selections are available for listening on my website (currently being updated) CellularMeditation.com.

Cellular Meditation is about getting endorphins, our own feel-good chemicals into ALL THE CELLS–ALL THE BRAINS– OF THE BODY–sensing them from inside via our breath. Since we are 99.9% pure air and energy, we can finally taste our real make-up.  Based on physiology and neurochemistry,  I try to guide the listener to better understand the power we have over our own thoughts and emotions.  Science now validates the conscious mind’s ability to alter neuro-peptides.

The CDs are an adjunct to acupuncture as a program for releasing deep-seated anxiety and depression through a combination of

 1) Acupuncture treatment especially in the ear— an outcropping of the brain, and thus a way to access the brain centers.

2) Pulsed Electro-magnetic Field Stimulator (PEMF) FDA approved for treating depression.

3) Deep-state endorphin release, achieved through herbs, specialized massage, breathing/sensation techniques, verbal programming, and other modalities.      Acupuncture point combinations have been discovered for opening up frozen chakras–stimulating bio-energy frequencies that can help “teach” traumatized cells how to unlearn most dysfunctional reactions and states such as fear, demoralization, inflammation, toxification, and overall systems blockage.  This treatment affects trauma, anxiety and depression, by helping to dissipate intracellular energy trauma and revitalize subcellular metabolism.

More importantly, it is possible to heal ancestral, genetic emotional trauma—the psychic pain that we have inherited from generations of suppression. Genetic studies reveal that we still carry the emotional scars of our forefathers in the DNA of our mitochondria.  This DNA, in contrast to the DNA in our cellular nuclei, is in fact accessible and re-programmable.  This is a huge breakthrough in our understanding of the alterability of our genetic make-up.  (It must be added that we also carry the DNA from a previous era when our ancestors built open cities, not fortresses— and sharing, not conflict, was the order of the day. Will we ever return to that era of abundance for all?

T’is my prayer…

What is PEMF? Electromagnetic Field Stim

What is PEMF?  Since the body has a magnetic field just as critical as the earth’s field, the Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field stimulator acts to strengthen the body’s magnetic field  and thus affect all bodily systems and tissue.  Just as we use MAGNETIC resonance (MRI) for diagnosis, so we can use magnetism for treatment.  PEMF can heal and regenerate damaged tissue for faster recovery from sports injuries, torn tendons,  fractured bones, and especially “incurable” neuropathy (numbness and pain in the feet).  This form of  PEMF therapy enhances cellular protein synthesis and improves circulation.  It has also been shown to improve many psychological conditions such as depression and PTSD by modulating neurotransmitter levels in the brain.

Dr. William Pawluk’s book on PEMF:  Magnetic Therapy in Eastern Europe explains how PEMF can provide a basic anti-aging strategy. Pathology starts in the magnetic field first and then in individual cell tissue, rising from damaging agents such as stress, pollutants, oxidation deprivation, chemical agents, genetic derangements, radiation, or drugs.

PEMF only affects damaged cells by reestablishing a normal magnetic field around them.  The normalized field then induces normal tissue regeneration. PEMF penetrates all biological tissue unlike laser or ultrasound, going right through casts and splints.  This stimulator, so popular in Europe and the Middle East, can affect every bodily system since electromagnetic fields surround the body as well as every organ and cell.  PEMF:

—Activates the metabolism.

—Helps repair torn muscles and ligaments.  Revitalizes skin tissue.

— Boosts the body’s defenses: Toxins & waste products are more rapidly broken down.

—Boosts Energy and healing processes through better micro-circulation.

—Increases formation of the body’s natural protective substances to combat free radicals, and strengthen the immune system.

Improves the rolling and adhesion behavior of white blood cells that fight infection.

—Increases usable oxygen and ATP, the body’s own energy supplier.

I use acupuncture and massage with the PEMF for an enhanced synergistic effect.  Most patients feel energized, relaxed, and usually pain free–immediately or within hours.  Just as in every other field of science and industry dependent on field theory, for our own bodily health we must all begin to THINK FIELDS…!

Acupuncture for Addictive Behavior

Acupuncture is an effective treatment for any kind of chemical dependency–creamy desserts, cigarettes or cocaine! Along with herbs and massage, special tuning points on the ear are stimulated because the ear is like a computer touch screen for the brain, an external outcropping through which we can REPROGRAM the BRAIN CENTERS for APPETITE CONTROL, METABOLISM, PAIN, DEPRESSION, and ADDICTION.

The major ear point for this is named Shen Men or “Door of the Spirit,” a point that can open our spirit or emotional center. Acupuncture restores the normal release of ENDORPHINS, the chemicals with receptor sites in every cell which give us a sense of wellbeing. But in the case of a smoker or even a “foodaholic,” these chemicals are “locked up” and dependent on the “fix” (of nicotine, drugs, alcohol, or sugar) in order to be released. When certain points are stimulated, the patient begins to feel a sense of deep relaxation, and the endorphins can begin to be released normally. So he loses that nervous build-up that triggers the need for a cigarette. The chemical addiction is gone.

Acupuncture helps DETOXIFY tars and nicotine. Patients often report “feeling like a new person.” Dr. Kathleen induces the expansive THETA WAVE state for relaxation and deprogramming, which brings heightened receptivity and a deep hypnotic reintegration: the cellular memory of deep sensory peace. Through breathing exercises, we feel alpha and theta waves throughout the body, and the pleasurable sensation of our liquidy, airy protoplasmic molecules.

Lacking this treatment, former smokers will often still crave cigarettes years later, since typically their endorphins were never normalized. So it is important to induce a deep state where NEURO-TRANSMITTERS such as DOPAMINE and SERATONIN are also increased. In that way, the “reward” or “consolation” of smoking, alcohol, overeating and all addictive behavior is totally neutralized and erased from the brain and nervous system.

The body and mind feel clear, up-beat, and free of dependency!

Breakthrough in “incurable” Neuropathy

I have just returned from two weeks in western New York where I did a power point presentation to a large group of elders at Canterbury Woods Community.  I invited audience members for demonstrations and every individual felt improved. But the biggest success lately has been the effect of my PEMF Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Stimulator on peripheral neuropathy.  This disease is terrible since it involves numbness of the feet, and often severe pain along with the numbness.  Go figure!

In L.A. I had two patients aged 78 and 88 who both had virtual total remission in single treatments.  In Amherst NY, two patients felt more feeling in their feet and ankles after every treatment.  I think this needs to be made known because there are so many sufferers out there, and in western medicine, neuropathy is generally considered to be incurable.  But the PEMF regenerates cell tissue and moves the inflammatory fluids and increases circulation.  The nerves are returned to normal functioning.  A miracle!

Here’s a testimonial from the 78 year old woman who had several miracles along with the disappearance of  her painful neuropathy!

“Since I was 77 years old, I did not expect miracles from acupuncture, but in my very first treatment with Dr. Kathleen, I got one! I had immediate relief from longstanding, severe neuropathy in my feet. When I got off the treatment table I exclaimed: “I can feel the carpet! I can feel the carpet!” Neuropathy is one of those irreversible conditions. Yet pain was gone and feeling was back!

During that week the arthritic pain in my hips steadily declined and eventually went away after a few more treatments along with pain in my knees. I had full mobility without pain, with only some stiffness when sitting too long.

Dr. Rosenblatt also cleared up another longstanding issue: irritable bowel syndrome. Next was my 15 year long allergic rhinitis nasal infection and asthma. I had had many rounds of antibiotics but it had never gone away. Kathleen supplied me with herbal capsules—one was the Chinese equivalent to an antibiotic.

At first nothing happened but after three weeks, I finally woke up one morning with my nose clear, breathing easy, with little drainage or sneezing. A week later I could suddenly taste and smell after years of blockage. That was a phenomenal experience!

I found that Dr. Rosenblatt really knows what works for every part of the body. This was all accomplished in exactly 12 treatments: Hips, knees, feet, intestines, and nose/throat. I am so improved from when I first went to her and at my age it is really wonderful.

I am so grateful!”                                                                 Nancy Simpson

Brain Body Bliss Blog Launch

I am launching my Brain Body Bliss Blog today in order to share with others the knowledge and strategies that I have gathered over the many decades since we launched the first Acupuncture clinic in the country (at UCLA in 1973).  This blog is dedicated to helping others connect with their 70 trillion little brains–the cells that fill their body, each with an intelligence, a consciousness, and an emotional center.  We can alleviate both physical and emotional pain since they are so interconnected in every cell.

Acupuncture, massage, and PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) stimulation regenerate and rejuvenate cell tissue and stimulate the receptor sites in every cell to induce the production of the feel-good chemicals–endorphins and dopamine.  We can FEEL healthy and BE healthy—and HAPPY! Naturally!!

At my website CellularMeditation.com, you can listen to two excerpts of my stress release CDs to see how You can influence your physical and emotional state just by exploring these trillions of cells and interior communities on your own–letting your mind travel on the magic carpet of your breath.  Practical techniques make it easy! Check it out and my other website AcupunctureBelair.net.

Til next time!
